Preserving our maritime heritage with a deep commitment to sustainability and innovation in marine environment protection.
Sustainability
Protecting our harbour
Jones Bay Superyacht Marina is committed to sustainability and actively supports our partners, Seabin and The International SeaKeepers Society, in their environmental efforts. We collaborate with Seabin to reduce marine plastic pollution through innovative Smart Technology and support The SeaKeepers Society’s initiatives in marine conservation and research.
Together, we are advancing sustainability practices and protecting Sydney Harbour and our oceans for future generations.
Partnering for a greener future
Seabin™ is an Australian cleantech startup that uses innovative technology, prevention and data to tackle microplastics and plastic pollution before it enters our oceans.
Cleanup is only part of Seabin’s mission, which also emphasises prevention through education, community engagement, and data-driven insights. This approach aims to work collaboratively with local governments, industries, and citizens. Jones Bay Superyacht Marina is proud to be the first official host marina for Seabin’s innovative Smart Citys program in Sydney, now having a total of 5 Seabins onsite.
Since 2020, Seabin has removed more than 149 tonnes of marina litter and an estimated 32.5 million plastic items from the Harbour. Seabin data also indicates that 54% of all plastic items floating in Sydney harbour are microplastics.

International Seakeeper Society
The International SeaKeepers Society promotes oceanographic research, conservation, and education through direct involvement with the yachting community. Providing educational resources and hands-on marine science experiences to students is the primary focus for ensuring the future wellbeing of our planet. SeaKeepers enables the yachting community to take full advantage of their unique potential to advance marine sciences and raise awareness about global ocean issues.
The Marina Partner Program is designed to create an association of cooperating facilities that partner with The International SeaKeepers Society in promoting marine conservation and education to their constituents. Marinas are uniquely positioned to encourage participation in ocean conservation programs and best boating practices in protecting the environment.
SeaKeepers welcomes the participation of marine industry partners to engage with our programming and join the DISCOVERY Yacht Fleet.
The DISCOVERY Yacht Program is our foremost initiative in accomplishing our mission and goals. Privately owned vessels are the platform for achieving at-sea expeditions and eliminate significant vessel charter costs which then permit scientists and educators to maximise funds for additional project requirements.
Get involved by participating in the programs outlined on the SeaKeepers website.
